Conference Notes ~ We will be known as peacemaker, whose words are as gentle as the dew of a spring morning...

...as we strive to incorporate the Savior’s compassionate example into our lives, our capacity to compliment the virtues of our neighbors will increase and our natural instinct to judge their imperfections will decrease. Our communion with God will grow, and certainly our lives will become sweeter, our feelings more tender, and we will find a never-ending source of happiness. We will be known as peacemakers, whose words are as gentle as the dew of a spring morning.

I pray that we will become more long-suffering and understanding of others and that the Lord’s mercy will, in perfect meekness, soothe our impatience with their imperfections. This is the Savior’s invitation to us.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

The day after Thanksgiving we had a modified version of Grandma Day. Cash was going to a birthday party so I took Colby, Grey, and Grahm to lunch at our favorite place, JCW's!

I wanted to show them the big Christmas tree at Traverse Mountain but it was too busy, Black Friday and all. So we decided to walk around Cabela's.

We were so happy to see Santa had stopped by! Colby, Grey, and Grahm had a nice visit with him. I could feel the magic for that brief moment.

What a fun afternoon with Colby, Grey, and Grahm! I love them so much.

A few things I'm thankful for...

I wanted to post a few things that happened recently that I'm thankful for.

Elijah gave his mission farewell. I was touched by his message about the Savior and gratitude. He spoke with confidence, he sounded like a return missionary. He's off soon to North Carolina to share the good news of the gospel. We are praying for his success and safety.

We gathered at Terri and Jay's home after. It's always fun to see these brothers and sisters together, it doesn't happen often. I was thankful to be with family.

All for a piece of gum! I'm thankful for this determined fearless boy!

Flying Grandpa and Grandson... I'm thankful Tim has taught Cash to fly RC planes. Cash has become a good pilot and they have a good time together.

I'm grateful Colby and Grey come on Monday for piano lessons. It was Grey's first lesson and he did so good.

I'm so thankful that my niece Heidi could adopt. She has wanted a child for so long. She was married but was unable to have children. She decided to open her home and heart to be a foster parent. She fell in love with Malia immediately. They made it official a few days ago. If Michigan wasn't so far away, I would have been there.

Heidi, my brother Marion, and Malia celebrated Thanksgiving together. They look so happy!

I'm so thankful for Colby and his unique style, he's just so cool!

Grahm fills our Grandpa and Grandma hearts will so much gratitude. He's a beautiful boy and we love him.

It's a long story but I was thankful I could talk to my brother Ernie a few weeks ago. We talked for almost and hour and from now on it will be much easier to keep in touch. I love Ern, he's a good brother.

Thankful...

Mark, Tiff, and family were planning on being in St. George for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately Papa tested positive for COVID so they had to go to plan B. I know that was a disappointment but we were grateful to have our family together for Thanksgiving.

I didn't take many pictures, shocking I know. I'm regretting that decision because I don't have any pictures of Grandpa, Grahm, or Mark.

Favorite picture from the day, Grey is a cute pilgrim!

And I love this one of Colby in the moose hat I gave him last year.

I'm so thankful for all our blessings, family will always be at the top of the list.

Hugs...

As a grandparent, there will be many times in your life that you hug your grandchild, knowing you needed that hug more than they did.

Throw Back Thursday ~ Foundation of Faith...

Several years ago Tim and I sat behind a family in church that had 7 children… 2 girls and 5 boys just like my family. The parents did their best to keep the children quiet while trying to listen to the talks that were given. I thought of my own parents who took us to church every Sunday. We would pick up Grandma Federer and drive the ten or so miles to town. We were always dressed in our Sunday best. The only time we missed Sunday services was when there was a blizzard! I know Sunday mornings were a struggle to get us all dressed, fed, and out the door so we could make it to church on time. I also know we didn’t always sit quietly and listen. But I still remember Bible verses and songs from Sunday School.. “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” Seeing that family in church today was a reminder of how very thankful I am for the foundation of faith that my parents gave me.

Sunday best!

Not pictured is my oldest brother Kenny,
I can't remember where he was.

My Dad and brothers helped build the church. Grandma Federer always paid her tithing and made many substantial donations.

Time we waste...

The only time
we waste is
the time
we spend
thinking we're
all alone.

Conference Notes ~ We do not come alone...

...you are here for something grand. I join with President Nelson, who said: “The Lord needs you to change the world. As you accept and follow His will for you, you will find yourself accomplishing the impossible!”

...the Lord knows who you are and He loves you! Together, we will advance His purpose until that great day when Christ Himself returns to this earth and calls each of us to come “hither.” We will joyfully gather together, for we are those who come unto Christ, and we do not come alone.

Birthday Week...

It's been such a lovely week. Billie treated me to lunch on Tuesday. I don't see her that often so that was nice.

The night before my birthday I got a text from Holley that touched my heart. She said she wanted to be the first to wish me a Happy Birthday.

My sweet, tender sister. I couldn’t have ever gone through my adult life without you! You have taught me so much just through your example, your very soul. You teach me how to be more kind, more selfless, more compassionate, more accepting of others to this very DAY! You are a perfect gift to our family, all you work with, but mostly…to me❤️. I hope this birthday tomorrow finds you with a knowledge of your tremendous impact on so so many who love and cherish you …. And that I will be found among your fans! Happy, happy birthday—I love you!

I felt the birthday love at school. I had Happy Birthday sung to me on German, Spanish, ASL, and good ole English.

The fifth grade always presents a wonderful Veteran's program. Mr. Carpenter, a former teacher who served many years in the military always comes for the program. The students honor his service. I was happy I got a birthday hug from him. He was old school but definetly one of my favorites teachers at Lincoln.

My brother Lloyd lite up this star for my birthday, that was a first.

I also got so many thoughtful text, cards, and few gifts.

I had a delicious lunch at P.F. Chang's with Tim and Christopher. We also did a little shopping, it was a fun afternoon.

My favorite cards are always from our grandsons. They also watched a video of Bob Ross and painted me a picture. That touched my heart because Mark did that as a young boy too!

I ask Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm for an updated picture. They were so sweet to put on new shirts that I got them. I might need to do retakes because I chose the wrong setting on my new phone. But as my sister-in-law Mary Kay used to say, "There are no bad pictures, just some that are better than others."

Birthday week came to close with Sunday dinner. Chris and Mark made some delicious food and I always enjoy having all my family gathered around the table.

Thanks everyone, I love you!
