Heaven will help us...

I know that when we're doing the best we can do, heaven will help us with what we cannot do.

Saturday cereal...

Wednesday I got to play with Grey and Grahm while Mark and Tiffani went skiing with Cash and Colby. A little before bedtime Grey said he wanted a snack. I saw some Fruit Loops and Lucky Charms in the pantry. I asked Grey if he wanted some cereal and he said, "that's Saturday cereal." Silly me, we found another snack!

"Where the Lost Things Go..."

My favorite song from the movie "Mary Poppins Returns."

Michael Banks is an adult now struggling to hold it together while raising his three children, following the death of his wife. The children are young and miss their mother. "Where the Lost Things Go" is a song that comforts the children. It's a tender song that brought tears to my eyes. I have "lost" so many people I love but I know "nothing's gone forever only out of place..."

The Place Where Lost Things Go

Do you ever lie
Awake at night
Just between the dark
And the morning light
Searching for the things
You used to know
Looking for the place
Where the lost things go
Do you ever dream
Or reminisce
Wondering where to find
What you truly miss
Well maybe all those things
That you love so
Are waiting in the place
Where the lost things go
Memories you've shed
Gone for good you feared
They're all around you still
Though they've disappeared
Nothing's really left
Or lost without a trace
Nothing's gone forever
Only out of place
So maybe now the dish
And my best spoon
Are playing hide and seek
Just behind the moon
Waiting there until
It's time to show
Spring is like that now
Far beneath the snow
Hiding in the place
Where the lost things go
Time to close your eyes
So sleep…
So when you need her touch
And loving gaze
Gone but not forgotten
Is the perfect phrase
Smiling from a star
That she makes glow
Trust she's always there
Watching as you grow
Find her in the place
Where the lost things go

Look for the helpers...

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”

Keep on climbing...

Everything in the gospel teaches us that we can change if we need to, that we can be helped if we truly want it, that we can be made whole, whatever the problems of the past.

Now, if you feel too spiritually maimed to come to the feast, please realize that the Church is not a monastery for perfect people, though all of us ought to be striving on the road to godliness. No, at least one aspect of the Church is more like a hospital or an aid station, provided for those who are ill and want to get well, where one can get an infusion of spiritual nutrition and a supply of sustaining water in order to keep on climbing.

First snow of 2019, faith, conversion, home centered-church supported by personal worship...

Tim was little under the weather today so I went to church by myself. You are never really alone once you get inside though!

Today was a historic day, the first two hour block. I know that this change was inspired... because I know that God lives, that Jesus is the Christ, that this is His Church that He directs by prophecy, and revelation to His humble servants. I am committed to use the extra hour to study at home, and become more converted, learn more doctrine, strengthen my faith, and become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Snow fell all during church, it was more than we have had in a long time. It was so beautiful and white!

Checkers and Monkeys...

Grandpa had fun playing checkers with Colby and Cash.
We usually play a few games on Thursday's
and it's always a good time.

Grahm is always so happy when he is included.
Cash let him try the remote control and he was all smiles.
He also played Hungry Hippos with Grey and I for a half hour or more. He loves being one of the big boys!

Cash made a monster truck bowling
game and Grey thought is was so cool!

We have a game that you hang monkeys on a tree. Grahm decided to hang them on Grandpa!

Colby is always so helpful and fed Grahm while I was making dinner. I love Colby's expressions!

I got this radio and microphone when Chris and Mark were small boys. Colby found a station he liked and started singing along... "I'm dancing in the dark... listening to our favorite song"... he knew most of the words, and was so sweet to hear him sing along. It's moments like these that fill my heart with joy and gratitude. It's such a gift to spend time with the boys each week.

This is Grandpa and Grahm's favorite book... "Hey"... asked Grandpa what that means!
