An accomplishment...

It's an accomplishment to do something well, but maybe even a bigger one to do something well when you'd really rather not be doing it at all. ~ Lauren Graham

878 Miles...

With the exception of his mission to Taiwan, Christopher has never lived more than a half an hour away. He's moved to Seattle and is now 878 miles away or about 2 hours by plane.

While I'm very happy for Chris to have this new adventure, I will miss him terribly. I really enjoyed going to Salt Lake and spending the day with him.

He's been out of the so called nest for awhile now, but those goodbye hugs are really difficult for me. I've heard it called the post-parting depression. I smile bigger, laugh more, and eat better when he's around!

The last few weeks we have been packing up the Park Street house. Chris was really fortunate to sell his home and get a great price. With the help of a moving company, we loaded up the U-Haul on February 14th, Valentines Day!

Hauling off the junk that the previous owners left.

It's a good thing Chris got the big truck, because we filled it to the brim.

 Good bye Salt Lake City...

Tim and Chris took turns driving the truck. I drove Christopher's car part of the time too.

We had all kinds of weather... snow, and torrential rains. Every time the weather got bad, Chris was driving the truck. Needless to say I prayed a lot and was so grateful we made it safely. We had planned to spend the night in Kennewick, Washington, but after navigating through mountain passes in horrible weather, we pulled off at Pendelton, Oregon. We stayed at a large casino on an Indian reservation. There were signs everywhere that said no marijuana was allowed, but you could gamble the night away!

Tim and I were so proud of Chris for driving safely in white knuckle conditions. Scared the heck out of me!

There it is, Christopher's home for at least six months. It's a nice home in a quiet cul-de-sac, and next to a high school!

One of Christopher's clients who owns a moving company had some men waiting to unload the truck. There were great guys who went above and beyond to help us.

Nice backyard with a very tall tree.

Delicious lunch he made for me

We took time out from the unpacking to tour around Seattle. The Space Needle is incredible.

We enjoyed some delicious food in the rotating restaurant.

The panoramic views are breathtaking.

Chris took me to a tasting menu restaurant called Tilth. It was very fancy and the food was some of the best I've ever tasted. My favorite was the beet risotto.

Chris is all settled in his new home. One last hug at the airport and a prayer that this will be a good experience and some of your dreams will come true. Thank you for a wonderful week. I'm proud of you and I love you with all my heart Christopher Glenn!

The bluest skies you've ever seen in Seattle
And the hills the greenest green in Seattle
Like a beautiful child growing up free and wild
Full of hopes and full of fears
Full of laughter full of tears
Full of dreams to last the years in Seattle
In Seattle
When it's time to leave your home and your loved ones
It's the hardest thing a boy can ever do
And you pray that you will find
Someone warm and sweet and kind
But you're not sure what's waiting there for you
When you find your own true love
You will know it
By her smile, by the look in her eye
Scent of pine trees in the air
Never knew a day so fair
It makes you feel so good
That you could cry

Who knows, maybe your true love is in Seattle!

It's a...

BOY!

Cash and Colby guessed girl, and Grey just wanted the blue glasses! Cash did guess a girl, but there was no way he was wearing pink glasses.

Blue jelly bean and now we know it's a boy!

We are so excited to welcome another blessing into our lives! It will be so wonderful to hold a newborn grandson again.

Coming in August...

By the way Grandpa and me were the only one who guessed it was a boy!
