Words to live by ~ The caravan moves on!

Now, I have what every true disciple has. It is called the testimony of Jesus. In our day it includes the revealed knowledge that the earthly kingdom—The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—will triumph. In this connection may I set before you this illustration:

The Church is like a great caravan—organized, prepared, following an appointed course, with its captains of tens and captains of hundreds all in place.

What does it matter if a few barking dogs snap at the heels of the weary travelers? Or that predators claim those few who fall by the way? The caravan moves on.

Is there a ravine to cross, a miry mud hole to pull through, a steep grade to climb? So be it. The oxen are strong and the teamsters wise. The caravan moves on.

Are there storms that rage along the way, floods that wash away the bridges, deserts to cross, and rivers to ford? Such is life in this fallen sphere. The caravan moves on.

Ahead is the celestial city, the eternal Zion of our God, where all who maintain their position in the caravan shall find food and drink and rest. Thank God that the caravan moves on!

Words to live by ~ Walk tall and continue on...

There will be times when you think you cannot continue on. Trust the Savior and His love. With faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the power and hope of the restored gospel, you will be able to walk tall and continue on." —Dieter F. Uchtdorf

The day after Valentine's Day...

I promised Cash and Colby we would have a Valentine's Day party and so we did!

Welcome to the party from the Valentine cat or mouse?!?

Cash told me that the balloon Mrs. Eggli gave him at school came untied from the candy it was attached to, and floated away. He said in was heart shaped, and it made him sad he lost it. So I had a new one waiting for him.

Roses from my sweetheart!

Colby was so proud that he put his shoes on all by himself.
Who cares if their on the wrong feet!

Uncle Chris always has something fun to try. With some effort he cracked open a real coconut and we all took a sip. Cash didn't really like it!

Happy Valentine's Day to you too!

This little heart breaker was sound asleep during dinner.

Cash loved the Poke-the-Pumpkin game we played for Halloween and wanted to do it again. So we played Poke-the-Heart this time!

Colby's hair!!!!!

The laser gun lit up Colby's face!

Grey Max enjoying his first Valentine's Day with Uncle Chris.

Ya, they make my heart happy!

Finishing up our party by decorating some cookies, yummy!

 That sweet face!

All sugared up and ready for bed!

P.S. Mark was late for the party, he had an important phone call for work and it took longer than he thought it would. We still love him though.

I love, love, love my family!

ThrowBack Thursday ~ Grandpa Ames and Uncle Elmer

I am still looking through all of Mom's pictures. It has been fascinating and I want more than ever to piece together her family tree.

This is her Dad, Arlo Ames and his brother Elmer Ames. Of course Elmer would be her Uncle. I'm guessing this was taken in about 1905. I never knew my Great-Uncle Elmer but I do have a few memories of Grandpa Ames.
