Believing...

...at some period of time they will be brought to believe... for the Lord will be merciful unto all who call on his name.
~ Alma 9:17
The process of believing is an individual journey. Belief is gained through experience, personal experience. I’ve known people who have let go of their belief, taken a break, or walked away. I like this scripture. I believe in the counsel given at the end of this verse, ...for the Lord will be merciful unto all who call upon his name. I have been one of those calling upon His name in behalf of those I love. I want them to know Him, to feeling His blessings in their lives, and to have faith to believe again. I pray and try to put my trust in Him.

I will lift up my eyes unto the hills...

PSALM 121
Help comes from the Lord—He is the guardian of Israel.
A Song of degrees.

(Sunrise over our mountains this morning)

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Time... the best gift...

I have been thinking about how thankful I am we get to see our grandson’s at least once a week. Yesterday Colby brought a rough piece of wood with a design he had for a gun. Colby and Grandpa headed to the woodshop and got busy. Colby did most of the work, and listened to Grandpa as he was teaching him skills and methods. Colby was so proud of his gun. He told me he still needs to sand it more and maybe paint it. We can give our grands many things but time is the best gift.

We also painted a few more sun-catchers!

Honestly, if Cash doesn't choose a career as an engineer or maybe even a scientist, I'll be so surprised. He is patient, aware of details, and good at finding a solutions.

Grahm went upstairs and to talk to Alexa. I heard music playing. I went to check on him and saw him singing, and trying to snap his fingers to the beat of the song. He's the cutest!

I'm so thankful to be able to spend time
with Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm each week.

Hear Him...

Our Father knows that when we are surrounded by uncertainty and fear, what will help us the very most is to hear His Son.

Because when we seek to hear—truly hear—His Son, we will be guided to know what to do in any circumstance.

ThrowBack Thursday ~ Until the cows come home...

My Dad, Ivan Lester Federer with his herd of cows. He called them home from the field, and said something like "Hey cows" or "Hey girls" and they would come running. I haven't seen him for nearly 27 years. That's a long time.

I realized that Dad passed away 27 years ago
and would have been 93 years old.

If you need me...

"When you need me, but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me, but no longer need me, then I have to go."
~Nanny McPhee

I watched part of the movie Nanny McPhee with Colby. It's a good show. This is a quote from the end of the movie. Colby has it memorized. I cried when I heard him say it. I hugged him tight and told him that I will always be there if he needs me. (Unlike Nanny McPhee who left, I presume, to go help another family.) I also told him that I love him so much. He is a wonderful boy, and I've said this before, but he has the sweetest face and warmest smile. It melts my heart.

Friday fun/Top of the world...

Friday fun... Grandpa got a helmet for Cash and Colby so they could safely go for a ride on his scooter.

Legit helmet!

Grey will need a smaller helmet!

Cutest Coppertone boy, I love this picture.

They should of had a Coppertone boy!

When Grahm is in the tub the big boys watch a few shows. Cash is a good big brother to Grey.

Smoky sunrise the last few days.

Grandpa planned a fun weekend outing to Sundance.
Cash rode for a bit with Grandpa, and then Colby rode the rest of the way up and back down the canyon. He said it was fun but I didn't get a picture of Colbs.

It was a little cooler and with less smoke in the air at Sundance. We went to the top of the world on the ski lift. The views were beautiful and we even saw a deer with her fawn.

Thanks for planning a fun activity for our family Gramps.

Missed you Chris!

Back to school COVID style...

  • Masks
  • 6 feet apart
  • Disinfect high touch surfaces
  • Wash hands often
  • Lunch at desks
  • Blended model with half the students in the morning and the other half in the afternoon
  • Four day school week
  • No one in the school Friday, Saturday or Sunday to allow for natural sanitation
  • Online learning for some students
  • Temperature checks

I pray that we can keep the students in school and avoid distance learning. The administration has given countless hours to make this a successful school year. Everything is so different but this week has gone well, with only a few minor hiccups.

Schools provide more than just academics. Students learn social and emotional skills, get exercise, have access to mental health support, and other services that cannot be provided with online learning. It can be a safe place when parents are working. For many families, schools are a place to get a healthy meal. Here's to staying safe, and to preventing the spread of stinking COVID-19.

Oh and all week we have had excessive heat. Not a fan, but I hope it takes out the virus!
