Shelter in place...

I have wonder for awhile when our school might have a situation where there was a real threat. Today around lunch time a student left a threatening note in the bathroom. I don't know for sure what it said but the administration felt like there might be some sort of weapon on campus. The police came and we searched every locker, coat, lunchbox, and purse. The students quickly got their lunch and then we escorted them to their 4th hour class, where they were told to shelter in place until the all clear was given. The administration acted in a calm and professional manner. All of the teachers and staff were so helpful and our first priority was the safety of the students. I was grateful for the quick response of the Pleasant Grove police department. I took a picture, you can see a police officer standing in the doorway of one of the classrooms while we were searching the lockers. They take every threat seriously and remained at the school for several hours. After investigating they felt the threat was not valid.
We have lockdown drills and shelter in place drills often. Today felt different. I pray every day that our schools will be safe places.

Spiritual security...

Spiritual security will always depend upon how one lives, not where one lives. Saints in every land have equal claim upon the blessings of the Lord.

October love...

I really love this time of year. Wednesday Grey and I picked up Cash and Colby from school. They were on a mission at the Space Center. They were so excited to tell me all about it when they got in the car. Cash told me he was hot and would I please crank up the air conditioning!

We stopped at Costa Vida for a snack and then went to the park to play. It was a picture perfect Fall day. I enjoyed see the boys run through the leaves. I'm savoring the last few days of October with the sweetest boys around.

The Myth...

Cash got his backpack yesterday and pulled out some of his papers from school. He illustrated and wrote a myth. Good job Cash, we are proud of you!

Grey love...

Grey just melts my heart... I love his smile, those baby blues, his excitement for life, playing games together, the way he likes to hold a toy in his hands, the way he can carry on a grown up conversation about most anything, and so much more.

Four years of pure delight, how we love our Grey Maxwell!

Batty Boo Bash 2018...

Friday three of my favorite grandboos came over for the annual Boo Bash. I have been planning this for weeks. I enjoy trying to find activities that the boys will like. We have a few main stays, a treasure hunt and making pizza is something they always look forward to. At the last minute I thought we also needed a bat cave. We set up an obstacle course and it was a big hit!

Halloween Bingo, I tried not to eat all the candy corns!

Pencil painting was fun, the boys liked the glow in the dark paint.

The bat cave!

The first part of the obstacle course was a bubble wrap walk. I told the boys to try not to pop any of the bubbles. We counted how many they popped. Grey had an advantage because he's the smallest. They all tried different techniques, it was fun to watch.

Whacking the bats was their favorite part of the obstacle course!

No more bats in the basement!

Time for dinner!

They are getting good at making pizzas!

Cash is so precise and the pizza bites were better than ever.

Colby still likes to sleep on Christopher's bed, that's what he calls the blow up mattress! Clean as a whistle and ready for bed. I love it when the boys sleepover.

I have always wanted to make donuts with the boys. I couldn't find my donut cutter so we improvised. Grandpa cooked them out on the grill in a cast iron skillet. They are a once a year special treat. I love Colby's bedhead!

We also made Mr. Bubbles slime. Cash, Colby, and Grey played with it for quite awhile.

I was sad that the Boo Bash had come to an end, it was over too fast. Cash, Colby, and Grey are such good boys. They always say thank you and are so helpful. Being a grandma is a dream come true and I couldn't love them more.
