Hip Replacement Surgery

Not exactly three words you want to here. Tim's sweet 91 year old mother fell Wednesday night at her apartment in Salt Lake City and broke her hip. Ironically her own mother fell when she was 92 and broke her hip. Sadly Memaw passed away a few days later.

Johnnie Belle had surgery for a partial hip replacement yesterday. I'm so grateful to the doctors and nurses who took care of her. Given her age, this was a high risk surgery. Before the nurses took her into the O.R., Lee said we need to have a prayer. We gathered around her bed and Mike offered a comforting prayer.

Johnnie Belle managed a smile just before surgery.

Waiting is so difficult but made easier when your with family. We were all so relieved when the doctor reported that the surgery went well. Johnnie Belle has many weeks of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of her but for now all is well. She's a brave little soldier.

Sweet Potato Tots

Once in a while I need to get a Diet Coke at SONIC. They have the best pebble ice and you can have your beverage with a lemon. The other day I stopped to get a much needed drink and the employee asked me if I wanted to try some sweet potato tots. I love sweet potatoes! It wasn't my birthday but I said yes anyway. They are yummy and who says you can only have sweet potatoes at Thanksgiving.

Fine print says "for a limited time only" ...bummer!

Williams Family Baby Boom 2012

In 2010 the Williams family welcomed seven babies. We have already had one darling little boy born this year.

My niece Lisa gave birth to little Coast on January 23. He is so handsome, look at all that hair!

He's smiling at Chris!

Uncle Lee loves babies!

Lisa and Hayden have their hands full with two year old twins and a newborn. They are terrific parents!

Beckham and Ellery are getting so big!

Ellery loves her blankie!

So three more of my nieces are expecting this year. Brooke and Paige are due in April and Julie in June! Johnnie Belle will then have 30 great-grandchildren.

Oh and did I mention Mark and Tiff are expecting in September. We are beyond thrilled!!!

It was Valentine's Day two years ago that Mark and Tiff announced Cash was on the way.

We were once again enjoying a Valentines Day dinner when Mark said that Cash had a Valentine for me. I was so caught off guard that I didn't notice the little peanut on Tiff's tummy and that Cash's shirt said, "Big Bro." I have just got to be more observant! It was Chris that kept saying "Big Bro" and then it finally hit me that Tiffani was pregnant. I guess I was just focused on Cash's amazing drawing! I am so excited to welcome a new grandbaby and I will be happy to have a granddaughter or another grandson. All that matters is that he or she is healthy.

Mark and Tiff are wonderful parents and Cash will be an awesome big brother!

So six babies this year, not quit the baby boom of 2010 but almost!

In Like a Lion...

March definitely has come in like a lion. It was windy last night and we woke up to about 6 inches of snow this morning. March is usually such a changeable month, so probably in a few days it will be Spring-like.

Silly me... I decided to put out some of my Spring decorations yesterday!

Since March did come in like a lion, it darn well better go out like a lamb! This saying is probably not a true weather predictor but one can hope!

Anyone else have Spring fever? We have had a mild winter but I'm still looking forward to warmer temps!
