Remember to look up...

“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up."

Joy...

The Book of Mormon prophet Enos, Lehi’s grandson, wrote of a singular experience that happened earlier in his life. While hunting alone in the forest, Enos began pondering on the teachings of his father, Jacob. He related, “The words which I had often heard my father speak concerning eternal life, and the joy of the saints, sunk deep into my heart.” In the spiritual hunger of his soul, Enos knelt in prayer, a remarkable prayer that lasted through the day and into the night, a prayer that brought him crucial revelations, assurances, and promises.

There is much to be learned from Enos’s experience, but today what stands out in my mind is Enos’s memory of his father speaking often of “the joy of the saints.”

In this conference three years ago, President Russell M. Nelson spoke of joy. Among other things, he said:

“The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives."

“When the focus of our lives is on God’s plan of salvation … and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening—or not happening—in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. … For Latter-day Saints, Jesus Christ is joy!”

Boo!

Grandma Federer with Mark, she passed away ten months to the day after Mark was born. I was always grateful she got to meet him.

I was blessed to have a grandmother who loved me unconditionally. Her influence is still very present in my life, even though she passed away over thirty years ago. Grandma Federer was supportive, a master in the kitchen, an expert seamstress, and so much more. She always made time for her grandchildren. She set the example for the kind of grandmother I strive to be.

I enjoy the traditions I have with my grandsons. We had our 6th annual BOO Bash and sleepover this past weekend. It was a whole lot of fun!

Balloon races
It was a beautiful Fall day so we had a few balloons races before going inside. Grey was so happy he won!

Where is Cash?

Now where did Grahm go?

Cash started making pizza bits awhile back and now everyone decided to make them too. They are very good!

Grandpa and Grahm making pumpkin cookies.
The time goes by so fast, Tim and I do treasure these days with Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm. It was bath time, kisses, and hugs then off to sleep. It was cozy in the bedroom with these dear boys. They all slept good. Grahm said he wanted to go home but with a few more hugs and kisses from his brothers, he fell asleep.

Grey woke up first so I snuggled with him on the couch until the other boys woke up.

Colby really loves Grahm.
As soon as Colby woke up he went over and hugged him.

Breakfast!

A little more ghostbusting, the boys enjoyed popping those pesky ghost!

Taking out a few ghost cups!

Ghost lava lamps
we knew Grahm would like this.

I have a feeling we are being watched!

We played at the park and Grandpa flew, and crashed his airplane. He says he can glue it back together.

Grandpa took Cash and Colby to see Mike's cars. Then it was time for the BOO Bash to come to an end. I was a little sad the rest of the day. The house is so quiet. Hurry back sweet boys, I love you!
