Giving thanks for it all...

Thanksgiving Eve sunset... the pictures don't do it justice.
We are still so happy to have a view.
We never had that in our home in Hidden Oaks.

Mark and Tiff were the perfect hosts for our Thanksgiving dinner this year. Mark cooked up the most delicious turkey!

Tiffani and the boys made some healthy and delicious cinnamon rolls. Cash, Colby, and Grey made placements, and turkeys that looked so nice on the Thanksgiving table.

The cheeseball vs. Cash, Colby, and Grey!

It was another beautiful November day, much warmer than usual.

Colby couldn't wait to show us his new trick!

Chris, Cash, and Colby... The Three C's enjoying some pie!

At the end of the day I exhale and give thanks for it all.

We had a lovely day with our family this Thanksgiving. There was a nice feeling among us, and at the end of the day I did give thanks for it all!

I'm so thankful Chris could be with us, he's off to the Philippines again on Wednesday.

Watching a show and relaxing is the best way to end a happy Thanksgiving day!

 Thanks everyone!

ThrowBack Thursday ~ Loving deeply...

For some reason lately, more than usual, I have been thinking about my two sons, and how deeply I love them. I definitely made a lot of mistakes as a mom, and I still beat myself up about that, but today... Thanksgiving Day, I read a quote that made me feel like I did okay... mistakes and all. "There is no perfect way to be a good mother. Every situation is unique. Every mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply." ("Daughters of God" - Elder M. Russell Ballard, Ensign, April 2008)

Loving deeply, I've got that part down!

Christopher and Mark, my boys for always...

Lock down...

Yesterday we had a lock down drill. We have fire and earthquake drills, but a lock down drill has a completely different feeling. I was in a classroom that has a storage room attached. When the principle announced that we were having a lock down drill, Mrs. Jacot and I quickly got the students in the furthest corner of the storage room. We also had to turn off the lights and shut the door of the classroom. The classroom doors are always suppose to be locked. When you practice, you know what to do. You think about protecting the students. I turned off the lights and since the room has no windows, it was very dark. Some of the students were laughing and talking and Mrs. Jacot yelled at them, telling them that it was a lock down, and to be very quiet. They are also never suppose to start texting. A would be gunman could see the lights on the cellphones. I hope the students always take the drills seriously. I learned today that even though it was clearly pretend, it's still frightening. I pray everyday, I really do, that our schools will be safe places.
This is the world we now live in. But I still believe it's a wonderful world with much good, and so many people who care.

Weekends...

There aren’t enough days in the weekend.
– Rod Schmidt
Just a few of pictures from the weekend... it always goes by too fast, and I wish I had one more day.

Grey and Cash helping sort again, they are the best helpers.

Last time the boys were over, I turned on a show for Grey while I got Colby in the tub. Grey said to me, Um Grandma I always have a squeezy when I watch a show. I promised him I would get some squeezies for next time. He was surprised when I gave him one on Sunday!

Colby wanted a bubble bath this time!

Clean as a whistle! I love to comb the boys hair.

Cash is getting so big he doesn't need too much supervision in the tub. I still stay close by, and it's fun to watch him stretch out, and relax in the warm water.

Christopher's weekend included a walk and enjoying the wonderful Fall weather. He has liked living near the canyon.

And of course he always cooks up some fabulous fair!

Here's to next weekend!
