10 out of 10...

I had a 10 out of 10 experience at Ashton Gardens today. I’ve been wanting to take Cash to Nature Connects. There are fifteen sculptures made from LEGO pieces. We were amazed over and over by this incredible exhibit!

Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point is proud to welcome Sean Kenney's Nature Connects made with LEGO bricks!

Sean Kenney is a renowned, award-winning artist and "professional kid" who uses LEGO pieces to design and create contemporary sculptures for high-profile clients, major corporations, and venues around the globe for more than 15 years. Each sculpture is built by Kenney and his team of nearly 10 artists who work in their professional studio based in Brooklyn, New York. The sculptures are fully glued, steel reinforced, custom-curated and durable to withstand the life of the exhibit.

Nature Connects at Ashton Gardens features 15 sculptures made from LEGO pieces. Each sculpture is built entirely with LEGO pieces.

Cash was walking ahead of me and when he saw the spider, it startled him.

Cash thought the waterfall was awesome.

Cash liked the Bonsai tree. He told me he wanted one and had seen someone selling them by the road. We stopped on our way home, the one we liked was almost four hundred dollars!

We didn't take a picture of the ant hill or the wheel barrow but they were cool also!

Ashton Gardens is a very unique setting and Cash often commented how beautiful all the trees and flowers are.

We also walked through the The Light of the World Gardens. It is two-and-a-half acres and includes a total of 15 scenes and 35 statues, with 14 scenes from the New Testament and one LDS Church-inspired scene depicting Joseph Smith’s First Vision. It was a sweet and experience to see the statues and talk about the Savior and Joseph Smith.

And again, how oft would I have gathered you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings...

I asked Cash where he wanted to have lunch and he chose Zupa's. I really love this handsome, smart, kind, and clever boy. He has brought more joy in the last ten years than I ever could have imagined. I feel so blessed to be his grandma. He opens doors for me, says thank you often, and is so fun.

We went back home for awhile and played some games. I asked Cash what he wanted for dinner and his reply was, "Whatever is easiest." I will remember this day always.

Infuriating Unfairness...

Squaw Peak
PC to Chris

Do not let unfairness harden you or corrode your faith in God. Instead, ask God for help. Increase your appreciation for and reliance on the Savior. Rather than becoming bitter, let Him help you become better. Allow Him to help you persevere, to let your afflictions be “swallowed up in the joy of Christ.”

I testify that the Savior lives. He understands unfairness. The marks in the palms of His hands continually remind Him of you and your circumstances. He ministers to you in all your distress. For those who come unto Him, a crown of beauty will replace the ashes of mourning; joy and gladness will replace grief and sorrow; appreciation and celebration will replace discouragement and despair. Your faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will be rewarded more than you can imagine. All unfairness—especially infuriating unfairness—will be consecrated for your gain.

Summer Art Camp

I'm so impressed with Cash's art skills. He just finished a week long art camp that my friend Mindy taught. I can tell he enjoyed the classes. I think it's wonderful that Cash wants to learn and improve. I'm very proud of him!

69 going on 70...

He's a master craftsman

He has the power of flight and creation...

(Text from Christopher)

Timothy Glenn is 69 and has entered his 70th year. Time flies when you are having fun!

Tim and I woke up Thursday morning feeling so grateful. Tim was emotional as he started listing all our blessings. The list is long but always at the top is our family.

All Tim ever wants for his birthday is to have his family near, that's means everything. We had planned to have a picnic in the canyon, but low and behold it rained off and on all day. I can't remember the last time we had measurable precipitation. So not wanting to wish the much needed rain away, we went to plan B and had the birthday bash at our Highland cottage.

Before the party I went to get Colby for a piano lesson. I showed up a little early so I took Colby, Grey, and Grahm to swim lessons. Cash was at summer art camp. Tiffani wasn't feeling good so I was happy to help out. We got to the pool and even though it wasn't raining, swim lessons had been cancelled. So we played at the playground nearby for a bit.

I've noticed Grey makes friends often when we are at a playground. He started talking to a boy named Paxton and before you know they were playing tag. Colby and Grahm joined in too, it was difficult to get a picture because they are fast!

We got some lunch at went to the Fish Park. Cash was riding by on his bike after art class (that was Mark's bike when he was young) and he joined us!

I took Cash and Colby with me and they helped get everything ready for Grandpa's party. They are really the best boys.

We had our picnic dinner, talked, laughed, and played outside. It was a very welcome cool evening, and smelled so clean and fresh outside. We missed our Tiffani and are thankful she's feeling better.

Grey and Grahm help make these fruit kabobs!

Tim enjoyed sitting around the table
and talking with his boys so much.

Grahm loves to pop bubbles, he would do this for hours if we let him.

Uncle Chris and Grahm are buddies. And if Grahm gets a drop of water on his shirt he wants a new one. All by himself he went inside, to the place where I keep extra clothes and got a shirt (pajama top). What a boy!

Da boys!

Grahm is always so helpful!

I think many of Grandpa's wishes have already come true!
