No school = A day with the Grands...

Because all the 7th graders went on a field trip to the zoo, I didn't have school on Wednesday! So, I got to spend the day with Cash and Colby.

We started the day by visiting Daddy and Grandpa. Colby said, that would make Daddy and Grandpa so happy!

 You know Grandpa loves to give advice,
so Cash and Colby are getting some at his office!

It's good to know your rights!

By the way, our visit did make them happy.

Next we went to Target for an early Easter toy. I told them before we went in the store that they couldn't get a big, huge toy but a small to medium toy. They we not demanding at all and took their time choosing the toy they wanted. And of course being the very polite boys they are, they said thanks.

We had a yummy lunch at Chick-fil-A and they ate every bite! We went home after that so Cash and Colby could play with their new toys. After they played awhile I tried to get Colby to take a N-A-P. He usually will, but not this time. He kept say that Daddy said he didn't have to take a nap!

It was such a beautiful day we went for a walk to the park. They played in the big "sandbox" and fed the ducks.

Cash and Colby play so well together. Colby loves his big brother. Sometimes Cash gets busy playing and Colby is trying to tell him something. He will say Cash, Cash and when he doesn't answer he will say, Cash doesn't want to talk to me.

 Digging for buried treasures!

We decided Gramps wouldn't mind if had a couple of his popsicles.

While Cash and Colby were eating their popsicles, Cash spied a bird at the very top of the pine tree!

I'm grateful every day that we live nearby our family. It is by far one the greatest blessings I have. To spend time with them gives me such joy. I learn many things each time I am with my grandsons. They make want to be a better person. I need to do better, I don't ever want to disappoint them.

I love the song, God Gave Us Families...
Our Father has a family. It’s me!
It’s you, all others too: we are His children.
He sent each one of us to earth, through birth,
To live and learn here in families.
A father’s place is to preside, provide,
To love and teach the gospel to his children.
A father leads in family prayer to share
Their love for Father in Heaven.

A mother’s purpose is to care, prepare,
To nurture and to strengthen all her children.
She teaches children to obey, to pray,
To love and serve in the family.

I’ll love and serve my family and be
A good example to each family member.
And when I am a mom or dad, so glad,
I’ll help my family remember:

God gave us families to help us become what He wants us to be—
This is how He shares His love, for the family is of God.
I love my family. I am not perfect and I fall short, but being part of family helps me want to be all that Heavenly Father wants and expects me to be. I thank them for their love and patience.

#BecauseHeLives

Because He Lives
God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

Wallpaper...

Wallpaper was so "in" when we built our home back in 1992. Room by room we getting rid of it and it's a lot of work.

A few years ago we removed the wallpaper in our bedroom. This weekend we removed the wallpaper in the kitchen. I did the lower half and Tim did the upper half. Tim's area was a lot harder because of the border. Tim has so many skills and he's a hard worker. It's almost finished and the walls look great.

Cash and Colby came over yesterday and they don't understand why we had to remove the wallpaper. I discovered Cash doesn't like change. He said, "I like the wallpaper, why did Grandpa take it off?" I told Cash and Colby that the wallpaper was old and we wanted to make the house look better with fresh paint. Colby just says, "Why?" It's kinda cute!

By the way, I will never, ever have wallpaper again.

Words to live by ~ this very day and always...

Yes, God loves you this very day and always.

He is not waiting to love you until you have overcome your weaknesses and bad habits. He loves you today with a full understanding of your struggles. He is aware that you reach up to Him in heartfelt and hopeful prayer. He knows of the times you have held onto the fading light and believed—even in the midst of growing darkness. He knows of your sufferings. He knows of your remorse for the times you have fallen short or failed. And still He loves you.

Bubble bath...

As I may have mentioned before, I love bath time with Cash and Colby. We talk about important things and sometimes we sing songs. Colby was so sweet the other night. He wanted bubbles and we sang, "We Are a Happy Family." He said, "Grams, sometimes Cash doesn't share with me." We had a good talk about kindness and what it means to share.

I understand fully what all those crazy ladies told me years ago: "It goes fast, dearie; enjoy it while you can." My boys grew up fast and so are our grandsons. I'm taking a deep breath and plan to enjoy every bubble bath that comes my way. Because, dearie, it really does go so fast.

Picnic...

Mark made his famous tilapia and asparagus for Cash and Colby. They had a picnic in the backyard using their new tables and chairs. Pretty soon the backyard will have grass!

 I think they would rather have noodles and cheese!!!!

Favorite spot...

Colby has a favorite place where he likes to sit when he comes to Grams house. It's on the arm of the sofa right next to the end table.

I brought these toys upstairs because I thought Grey might be able to play with them soon. Colby found them and it was like they were brand new.

He was sitting in his favorite spot singing and having fun.

Colby left his favorite spot long enough to play a few rounds of Pop the Pig. It's always fun to play games with the Grands!

"Three"... smart boy!

Words to live by ~ because he believed...

Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

Treasure boxes...

Cash loves to look inside Tim's treasure box. A few weeks ago he said that he would like to have his own treasure box.
Sooooo....

 He loved it!

 And of course I got one for Colby too.

 He was pretty happy!
