Words to live by ~ Day of choosing...
We need to tighten our grip on the rod that leads us back to Him. Now is the “day of choosing” for all of us.
~ Elder Robert D. Hales, Ensign November 2015
There has been a day of calling, but the time has come for a day of choosing; and let those be chosen that are worthy. Doctrine and Covenants 105:35

ThrowBack Thursday ~ My brother Les...
On November 9, 1988 my brother, my best friend was tragically killed. He died at 10:26pm. I got a call a little after midnight from my sister telling me he had passed away. It was the worst night of my life. Even after 27 years, it still takes my breath away that he's gone. I miss him. I will dance with Les again someday.

I'm 58...
Birthday suit!
Baby Eileen Renee
Eileen ~ Roseanne ~ Les
Roseanne ~ Me
When my parents were in their 30s I thought they were old! Now I look in the mirror and see how silly that was. I have more wrinkles and sometimes I use glasses to read small print. Compared with my grandparents and my parents generation, 58 year-olds are in the prime of life. I no longer feel I have to be everywhere and do everything. I try to focus on what is most important and that will always be my family.
I'm grateful today for my parents who gave me life and for the sacrifices they made. I'm grateful for the things they taught me. I treasure the friendships I have. My family is everything.
The truth is, I may be 58 but I don't feel old. I do however feel a little nervous about turning 60! Sixty is.. well.. sixty.
I learned the secret of the fountain of youth from Grandma Federer. She was always serving, making lovely things for others, gathering her family around often and she had a pure heart. She worked hard and loved deeply. I try to be like her.
Old age? It can wait for another day.

Friday nights...
Most Friday's we get to be with Cash, Colby and Grey so Mommy and Daddy can go on a date. It's something I always look forward to and is the best part of the week. I couldn't love our grandson's any more!

Trick or Treat 2015
I got my semi-annual sore throat but I didn't have any other symptoms. I really wanted to see Cash and Colby in their Halloween costumes, so with a promise to not hug or kiss anyone we went to see them.
Cash was an awesome ghost and Colby was the cutest fireman this side of the Mississippi! Grandpa and I stayed with Grey so Mark and Tiff could go trick or treating with Cash and Colby.
Grandpa passed out candy while I played with Grey. I felt miserable all day and it sure made me feel better to spend a few hours with him.
Mark and Tiff live in a wonderful neighborhood. There were movies showing on garage doors and others cooking up scones on a grill. It was a perfect Fall evening for trick or treating!
Dry ice is lots of fun! What a darling family, I love them so much!
