Just catching up on favorites moments from the past few weeks...
One of my favorite teachers, Mr. Corless found out a few weeks ago that his four month old son has kidney cancer. Mikey was spitting up blood and after several tests the doctors discovered he has an ulcer. Further imaging test were done to be sure and they showed the tumor in one of his kidneys. If he had not had the ulcer, they may have never know about the tumor. Michael and Melanie feel like they have every reason to hope but treatments for Mikey will require them to go to Texas for several weeks for radiation. Primary Children's recommended they seek treatment in Dallas. They need to shrink the tumor before removing it. Following this procedure, he will need to have ongoing screenings every three months until he is five.
A GoFundMe page was set up to help this sweet family, so far $35,575 have been donated to help pay for travel expenses and anything else they need.
At school we have a Donation Dress Day the first Wednesday of the month. Students can donate a dollar and wear something beside a school uniform. The administration asked that the donation be increased to $5.00 with the proceed going to the Corless family. The hope was to raised $2,000.00 dollars, and over $6,000.00 was donated that day! I thought of the goodness of so many, some who don't even know Mr. Corless and his family, but want to help. An elementary student gave the assistant principle a penny. Every donation matters and helps out.
I'm subbing for Mr. Corless while he and his family are in Texas. I would do anything to help and I pray for them everyday. Mr. Corless and his family are so overwhelmed with the help they have been given. He said, "Thank you to all who have made this process easier. The outpouring of love and support is truly overwhelming. Our hearts are full. Still praying for a miracle." #mightymike #kickkidneycancer
Soccer and selfies...
Grahm had his last soccer game of the season. He was so excited for every game. He would run over after playing and say, "I got a kick." He would give us high fives or hugs. He got a few goals too! We love Coach Jana, she lovingly coached Team Wolves. The last game Coach Jana gave the team a medal and a toy wolf. We really enjoyed watching Grahm play, I smiled through all the games!
Walks with Chris and more delicious food!
Skeletons playing the China game!
Cooperate headquarters for Chris has temporally moved to to Lehi. I enjoyed helping him pack up and move. He will move into a nice new condo in Provo the first of November.
My son Mark has perfected the omelet, topped off with his famous salsa. Yummy!
I feel grateful and blessed everyday.
