Friday was Lee's 72nd birthday and I really wanted to have a little celebration for him. There are many things I love and admire about Lee. He is clever, kind, generous, thoughtful, determined, positive, forgiving, and most of all he loves unconditionally.
Through the years I have witnessed his generosity. He would often bring Chris and Mark unusual toys and gadgets. Now he occasionally gives our grandsons a fun toy. He brings me flowers or something that caught his eye. Hardly a week goes by that he doesn't stop by to see his brother Tim. He also will give him a favorite treat. He makes everyone feel loved and that are the most important person on earth!
For many years he has delighted all of us as the Queen's Storyteller. He makes a costume and writes an original Christmas story.
He never gives up on an idea he has for a book, play or some other entrepreneurial quest. I think that's his greatest gift and what he will be remember for... he never gives up. He probably doesn't know this, but he has inspired me, and many others to just keep going.
He spreads joy.
Lee loves his brother Jeff and was an advocate for him, especially during the illness that took his life.
He honored his father and mother. He was always attentive in caring for his mother Johnnie Belle. He has a special relationship with his baby sister Terri. He has brought her comfort and been there when she needs extra love.
He has served faithfully in the temple and other callings. I know he enjoyed serving as choir director. No ward has had a better choir director!
I think Grahm enjoy the party as much as Lee.
Have a wonderful year Lee, I hope all your wishes come true.
