I went to temple on Thursday and when I saw all the flowers I thought of Cash and Colby. I really wanted them to see how beautiful they are. When I went to get them on Saturday I had a feeling we needed to stop by the temple. I don't know if they will remember the hour or so we spent walking around the temple, but it's a day I will never forget.
They wanted to go inside and I told them they could when they were a little older. I showed them the pretty windows and let them peek inside. I love how Cash is on his tiptoes and how Colby is bent down to get a better look.
Cash stopped many times to smell the flowers.

As we walked around the temple I told Cash and Colby how sacred the temple is, and that it is called the house of the Lord. We talked about the plan of happiness. I told them someday they will go inside the temple and make special promises to Heavenly Father. We talked about how Mommy and Daddy were married and sealed in the temple. They have looked at pictures of that day with Mark and Tiff. I told them that Gramps and me were also married in the temple.
Cash and Colby did not say they were tired and wanted to leave. I think they felt the spirit that is there. It is such a peaceful place inside and out. I hope I am still here when they go to temple for the first time. Most of all I hope they know that I value the blessing of having a temple nearby, and that I try to keep the covenants that I made some 33 years ago.
