The table...

Christopher asked Tim to make a dining table for his new home. Chris chose a design called "Hayrake."
A hayrake table is a distinct pattern of table produced as part of the English Arts and Crafts movement in the early part of the twentieth century.

Its distinctive feature is the arrangement of the lower stretcher between the legs as a double-ended Y-shape. The shape of each end, and their joinery, was based on traditional English craft woodworking and the construction of wooden hay rakes. The stretcher is not merely a simple Y shape, but its junction is braced by a T-shaped joint, as was needed for the work of a rake.
Tim worked for weeks, and it was a challenge because some of his woodworking tools are not large enough for this scale of project.

He finally finished the table last week.
We brought it to Chris last Sunday and it looks beautiful in his new home!
It's another heirloom that will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Chris prepare a lovely dinner for the
maiden meal on the table and we also played Yahtzee!

 coke slush with lime...

appetizers of olives, fine cheeses, salami with
balsamic and dried fruit on the side...

 my favorite strawberry salad...

savory asparagus soup, clean without any cream...

 and fine chocolate for dessert!

While I cleaned up, Tim and Chris took a dip in the hot tub. Tim said it was wonderful!

Thanks for a delightful evening Chris.
