PTD... Perfect Turkey Day

How fun to use the turkeys Cash and Colby made for table decorations!

Pre-dinner activities

Sometimes just for a moment, I wonder if all the days of planning and preparations are worth it. But then I think of how much I love my family and how it will always be my highest priority to gather together for holidays, birthdays or just an ordinary day. Truth is, it was a family group effort. We all did something that made our time together fun and special.

Then something like this happens and I KNOW
all we did to make Thanksgiving memorable was worth it.

After we ate dinner, I asked everyone to write down what they were thankful for on a leaf. Cash loves to help, so he passed out leaves and markers.

Cash waved his hand and chose someone... Grandpa was grateful for our grandsons, Grams for her Mom, Chris for success in business $$, Mark for growth, Tiffani for her boys, Cash for his new house and Grey, Colby for his shoes and Grey for Mommy's milk!

Then Cash hung the leaves so carefully on the Thankful Garland.

We sang a song and then Cash said, "I have an announcement."

He said, "Thanks to Grandma for all this, it was a Perfect Turkey Day." He gave thanks for all our "great things" and said "help us to do great things." Needless to say it brought tears to my eyes.

He tried to wipe my tears on his sleeve.

Sweetest boy. It will always be "worth it" to plan
and make family gatherings a celebration.

Mark cooked the turkey this year in their brand new convection oven.

It was a full bird and turned out moist and delicious!

All the food was amazing... Christopher's cranberry cooler and artichoke dip, Tiffani's corn bread and green been casserole, it was a feast.

Grey's first Thanksgiving, we are all so thankful
that he arrived healthy. He's perfect!

Tiffani, devoted Mommy.

Those cheeks!

Uncle Chris gets a turn holding Grey!

 Colby!

My Dad gave me these pilgrims. Not matter what
was going on in his life, he had a grateful heart.

Thanks to my family for a PTD!

"I'm very sure of things I am most thankful for..."
