More than conquerors...

Rose bush from Mark and family

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Windy...

It was a hot, windy day yesterday so it seemed like a perfect day to make wind chimes with glass beads. We had fun making them and the chimes look so good hanging in the trees.

(Grahm's hair!)

Cash suggested we fly kites, it was another windy day activity that we enjoyed. It was so fun to watch Grahm fly his kite. He gets so excited!

Cash is laying down on the grass and flying his kite!

We cooled down with some root beer floats!

Don't blink!

Throwing poppers down the sewer, why not!

This boy makes me smile.
Grahm was helping himself to some watermelon.

Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm are growing up so fast. I know I say this a lot. Sometime Cash wants to stay and play with his friends, and I understand, so I'm always grateful when he comes to play on Fridays. Cash is going on his first campout to Moab with his church group. He's excited and counting down the days. I love our grandsons so much.

Field trip...

I've been wanting to take Colby and Grey on a field trip to a music store. I remember taking Chris and Mark and they enjoyed going. I wanted Colby and Grey to see all the piano books out there besides the ones we use for their lessons. I hope it will continue to motivate them to learn more songs.

We also stopped for lunch and a walk through good ole Walmart! It was a fun day.

...even if you are not sure about the broccoli...

My plea today to our youth, and to you parents and adults who advise them, is to begin your search for happiness by embracing the bounty we have already received from the giver of every good gift.

We, of all people, should be “sing[ing] the song of redeeming love,” but that takes discipline—“discipleship,” if you will—the kind that guards against negative attitudes and destructive habits that would pull us off-key as we try to sing that song of eternal salvation.

Of course, in our present day, tremendously difficult issues face any disciple of Jesus Christ. The leaders of this Church are giving their lives to seeking the Lord’s guidance in the resolution of these challenges. If some are not resolved to the satisfaction of everyone, perhaps they constitute part of the cross Jesus said we would have to take up in order to follow Him. It is precisely because there would be dark days and difficult issues that God promised He would, out of a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, guide prophets, give an iron rod, open a narrow gate leading to a strait path, and above all grant us the power to finish the course.

So please, please, stay for the whole feast even if you are not sure about the broccoli. Bask in His light and lend your candle to the cause. They have it right in Primary: Jesus really does “[want you] for a sunbeam.”

Because each of you in this audience is precious to God and to this Church, I close with this special apostolic declaration. Before you ever received the gift of the Holy Ghost, you had the Light of Christ planted in your soul, that “light which is in all things, … giveth life to all things,” and is the influence for good in the hearts of all people who have ever lived or ever will live. That light was given to protect you and teach you. One of its central messages is that life is the most precious of all gifts, a gift which is obtained eternally only through the Atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the Light and Life of the World, the Only Begotten Son of God came to give us life by conquering death.

Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad.” We have so much to be glad about. We have each other, and we have Him.

Funeral and first snow cone of the summer...

I went to a funeral on Friday. Our dear neighbor, Marjorie lost her son on June 1st to melanoma that had metastasized to his lungs. Cameron was only 47. His story is very similar to my Dad's. The funeral was incredible, a real celebration even though Cameron's left this life too soon. I was once again reminded that you don't know what tomorrow will bring and it's never too late to make a needed change. My heart was broken for Marjorie, she kept saying she didn't think she would outlive her son. The funeral was at a chapel across the street from the Draper Temple. I took the opportunity to walk around and then sit down on a nearby bench to pray, and meditate. It was a gorgeous day.

I was so happy to see Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm. I hugged them a lot and treated them to the first snow cone of the season. I cherish every minute with them. Oh, I hope they know how much I love them.

Grahm loves watermelon... bite, wipe, repeat!

Colby showed me how he makes colorful bands. He and his friends want start a business and sell them. Good luck Colbs! I gave him some thread that was my Mom's.

Silly Grahmy!

And yes, I'm missing Chris.

Might be worth a trip to the Philippines!
