Just another fun day at Popsicle Park!

Tim's Shop...

Tim almost has his wood shop organized. I think it's nicer than the one he had at our other home. It has a window and tall ceilings. It makes me happy that he has a nice place to make things! And I have a list of things I want him to make!

Happy.Successful.Safe.

Every time I drive up the street to Mark and Tiffani's home, and it comes into view I smile. It makes me so happy that they have such a lovely home. It's in a nice, safe neighborhood. 

Tiff has planted some beautiful trees and plants in the flower beds. Mark keeps the lawn mowed and fertilized. 

They have gorgeous views of the mountains.

Tiff keeps track of important events on the wall calendar!

Tiff is our DIY expert. She built these floating shelves and they look great. 

It's the best feeling seeing my sons, daughter-in-law, and grandsons happy, healthy, and full of life! We are all so blessed.

Tintype...

A tintype, also known as a melainotype or ferrotype, is a photograph made by creating a direct positive on a thin sheet of metal coated with a dark lacquer or enamel and used as the support for the photographic emulsion. Tintypes enjoyed their widest use during the 1860s and 1870s.

Tintype portraits were at first usually made in a formal photographic studio, like daguerreotypes and other early types of photographs, but later they were most commonly made by photographers working in booths or the open air at fairs and carnivals, as well as by itinerant sidewalk photographers. Because the lacquered iron support (there is no actual tin used) was resilient and did not need drying, a tintype could be developed and fixed and handed to the customer only a few minutes after the picture had been taken.

My Mom had this tintype on her entertainment center for years. I know they are some of her relatives, but I can't remember who she said they were. Ugh... I should have written more information down. I have so many of the Ames family pictures and I have no idea who they are. I should have gone through the pictures with her, huge regret. I am grateful for the pictures that I have, and especially for the ones the have names and dates.

Grandma traditions...

Since I became a grandma almost six years ago, I have thought about the traditions I would like to have with my grandchildren. I have enjoyed taking them birthday shopping and having parties around the different holidays. Now I have added school shopping. It's a great way to sneak in a little one-on-one time. I like to let Cash and Colby pick where they want to eat and sometimes an activity. It won't be long and I will be taking Grey on a date with Grandma!

It was Colby's turn and we had a delightful day. I asked him where he wanted to have lunch and he quickly said "Gandolfo's" Then he said, "I love that stuff." He likes the breakfast sandwich with sausage, "sausage is better than bacon."

The Puppy Barn is next to Gandolfo's and Colby asked if we could go there. I have never been there, and it was fun to let Colby pet all the cute puppies. He said, "Grandma I am getting a dog." I said, "You don't have enough money." He said, "Yes I do and I am getting a dog." Maybe someday!

Next we went shoe shopping, he wanted blue shoes that light up. We found a pair of Adventure Shoes that he liked.

We stopped by Target, and he spied a Batman hat and said, "I love Batman." It wasn't on the list, but he looked so cute I could not pass up buying it for him... and a shirt too!

Our fun activity was walking around Cabella's and some target practice.

My new favorite picture of Colby... he has the sweetest face and that dimple! I love him so much. He said, "Wait until Mom sees me, she will freak out."

Because it was a special day we stopped by JCW's for ice cream. I asked him if he wanted to go through the drive up or go inside, he said inside. It was so fun to be with him, we talked about lots of things. 

Grandma's traditions... they are good for the soul!
