Countdown to Thanksgiving... Day 7

Susan, Beckie and I LOVE Dancing With the Stars, so we got together Monday night to watch the show together.

We enjoyed a relaxing dinner first. Susan made the most delicious butternut squash soup, Beckie brought a yummy salad and other fun treats. I made pumpkin biscuits with a spiced honey spread, so good! While we were watching DWTS we had a cup of herbal tea and scrumptious cookies that Beckie made for us

What a fun night with my dear friends. I'm very thankful for Susan and Beckie.

Some fun facts about the Utah connection to Dancing With the Stars

Utah Dancers

Utah has become the epicenter of modern ballroom dancing. In fact, many of our very own DWTS Pros have even trained there. And for some of the Pros who didn’t learn in Utah, they have ended up teaching there!

The second AT&T Spotlight Performance of the season will feature ten of the best young ballroom dancers from Utah. With each of the dancers ranging in age from 15-18, they are truly the bright future of ballroom.

Mark Ballas, who teaches in Utah every chance he can, will choreograph a stunning performance for these up-and-coming dancers to the hit track "She Wolf" by David Guetta featuring Sia. Chelsie Hightower, another DWTS pro from Utah, will add her own flare to the piece by performing alongside this talented young group.

This AT&T Spotlight Performance promises powerful choreography, a fusion of ballroom, hip-hop, and contemporary dancing – it will provide fans with a direct view of what the future has in store!

By the way, the performance was amazing Monday night!

Who will be our next president?
I hope that no matter what happens today, we can unite as Americans and support our president.

Quote for the Week ~ Remember...

"We should remember that saying 'I love you' is only a beginning. We need to say it, we need to mean it, and most importantly we need consistently to show it. We need to both express and demonstrate love."
—David A. Bednar

Countdown to Thanksgiving... Day 5

I am thankful for my Mom

It wasn’t until I became a mom that I realized how much time, effort, strength, and love goes into being a mom. Not that I didn’t appreciate my mom, it’s just when I became a mom myself I realized all the sacrifices she made and all things she has done for me through the years.

Countdown to Thanksgiving... Day 4

“But behold, I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance” (1 Nephi 1:20).

I am grateful today for the tender mercies of the Lord.

"We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance."

Countdown to Thanksgiving... Day 3

Today I am thankful for my brother Lloyd.

He is kind and strong. He is loyal. He's always willing to help his family and friends. He seems to sense when there is a need. He never expects recognition or anything in return. He was my protector growing up, I always felt safe when he was with me.

I know he's worried about his son Theo today. Theo was injured Thursday when his horse fell on him during a practice run while steer wrestling. He was life-flighted to a Denver hospital and is in intensive care. He is not in a coma but has not regained consciousness. Thankfully he did not have any broken bones. Praying he will have a full recovery.

Love you Theo, Brittany and Tegan!

Countdown to Thanksgiving... Day 1

I am thankful for Tim. He works hard everyday. He's smart and can fix almost anything. He's a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather. He see past my imperfections and loves his family deeply and unconditionally.

Cornbelly's with Cash!

About 15 minutes from our home is a place called Thanksgiving Point. It was founded in 1996 by Alan and Karen Ashton. Alan Ashton co-founded the software company WordPerfect. The company's financial success gave the Ashtons a desire to give something back to the community. Although initially planned as a place for their family to ride horses and care for farm animals, the goal became to create a destination for the community to enjoy nature and culture. There are events year round at Thanksgiving Point. We have enjoyed the restaurants, movie theaters, tulip festival, and the farm. Tim and I were so excited that we could take Cash to Cornbelly's this year! There are over 40 attractions and Cash ran and skipped from one to another. It was a blast to watch him!

Cash + Cornbelly's = one happy boy and the perfect day!
