Well, today I was my last day of working at school for the summer. The jobs I did gave me a lot of time to think. The expression, "time is money" came into my mind today for some reason. After seven weeks of working hard to help at school I've come to the conclusion that it's not always a good idea to monetize your time. I did think about the extra money I would make at first, but as the weeks went by I thought more about the facilities staff, that couldn't possibly get everything finished on their to do list without a little extra help. This week I changed the combinations on almost 700 lockers. It's several steps but I got pretty fast after doing so many!
Curtis, Ken, and Eddie are good men who work hard to keep Lincoln Academy clean and in good repair. The things they need to do is endless.
People at the school would pass by me and say, "That doesn't look fun" or "that looks tedious." I wish they would have said, that's so nice you are helping, or even say good job. I would reply that I was happy I could help and it was no big deal. Curtis, Ken, and Eddie were grateful and that's all that matters.
I know my time is valuable, but so is offering help and doing a good job. It was definetly time well spent to help at school this summer!
I passed by this classroom today in elementary that is almost ready for when school starts in August. I love the Americana theme, it's so inviting.

I listened to Jordan Petersen yesterday and he told his children to follow the rules... but don't follow stupid rules. By the way he followed up by saying, there are still consequences for not following stupid rules, so you better be prepared!
