I can't believe it but my dear friend Billie turned 80 on August 5. She has been fortunate to have good health, with only a few minor health problems. For two years now she has been the main caregiver for her husband Rulon. He had a stroke on August 6, 2019. He was paralyzed on his left side and even with extensive therapy he still has very limited use of his left arm and leg. I believe she has been blessed with strength beyond her own to be a caregiver each and every day.
There are good friends, close friends, and true friends. Billie is my true and forever friend. She understands my heart, she sees the best in me despite my shortcomings, lifts me when I'm discouraged, and has taught me so much about unconditional love. She cares about my family and cheers me on.
She doesn't have many opportunity to go out so I was delighted we could celebrate her birthday on Wednesday. I'm grateful she came into my life about thirty years ago.
