He was only 66, he would be 93 years old today.
I have missed him for 27 years.
I haven't been to Dad's grave for several years so today I drove the almost two hours to Beaver Dam Cemetery to honor him on his birthday.
I cut the grass and cleaned up around the gravestone. I listened to Carrie Underwood sing "How Great Thou Art' and cried. I feel like Dad is our guardian angel. I know he watching over me and my family because I have felt him near.
Sometime I wish Dad were buried in Wyoming but Beaver Dam is a quaint cemetery. Dad wanted to be buried next to Alice, and since she already had family plots, it seemed like the right thing to do. It's in a rural area where you see cows and horses, Dad would like that.

There is also a beautiful old stone church nearby. It really is a nice area. I enjoyed the drive and thinking about my Dad today.

We don't know how much time we have left in our lives.
We don't know when the lives of those around us may end.
It could be today.
It could be tomorrow.
Dad's tomorrow came way too soon.
I'm thankful for pictures that bring back happy memories of my Dad with Chris and Mark. He loved his grandsons.
I miss my Dad, I miss Grandpa Ivan.

Happy Birthday Dad, I love you!
