Today is my nephew Kevin's birthday. He's 50 years old, I was 11 when he was born. He was the first grandchildren born in our family and he made me an aunt for the first time. His birth was a very anticipated event, we were all so happy when he was born. My brother Les and I got to tend him often. We loved to play with him, he was a darling baby. We would walk up to Grandma Federer's house with him, she loved seeing him too. Mom adored Kevin, it always made her so happy when he would call her. She loved all her grandchildren but Kevin was her favorite.
Kevin is the department head at Georgia State University. He has been an art professor for many years. He has a beautiful family. His daughter's were both married last year.
Kevin sculpted this wolf that stands on the the campus of the university.
Since Kevin lives in Georgia, I don't get to see him very often. That makes me sad. I was so happy I got to see him last September.
My brother Lloyd has a birthday on September 11th, he is one year older than me. He was my protector growing up and is also a dear friend. He gives good advice and has the funniest one-liners. He is a hard worker and is always the first one to lend a hand. He reminds of of my Dad. His motto is "Have fun."
Cash, our first grandson has a birthday on September 14th. I can't believe he will be 8 years old. It's difficult to find the words to express the joy he has brought into our lives. He is so smart and creative. He is a good big brother. It's heartwarming to see how he takes care of Grahm.
Next is Christopher, I'm sad I won't be able to wish him happy birthday in person this year. He was born September 18th and it was one of the happiest days of my life. Chris and Mark are the same age for a few more weeks. I'm feel blessed to be their mother. Chris is fun, smart, very generous, and full of energy. He will have an Asian birthday this year!
Next is our Colby, he was born September 20th. Colby has the sweetest face, his smile lights up the room. He is very loving and has a tender heart. And he's a bit of a dare devil. He has determination and I know great things are in store for him!
It's going to be a fun month. Happy Birthday Kevin, Lloyd, Cash, Chris, and Colby! I love you all so much.
