I was asked to enforce the dress code and do random dress code checks. I would say I am rule follower and I sometimes don't understand why some of the students have a hard time with following the rules. I have to remind myself they are junior high students. I share some of the issues that come up with Tim and he calls me the sheriff. Ha Ha!
I told one of the teachers that Tim calls me the sheriff and his response was one of the nicest compliments I have ever received. He said I was too nice to be the sheriff, and then he said I was a guardian angel.
I have to arrange subs for the teachers when they request time off. One day we had nine teachers gone, amazingly it all worked out!
Teachers work so hard, and I'm grateful I can help them on a daily basis. I'm an aide for Mrs. Jacot. She teaches CCA, Foods, and Clothing. She is very organized and patient.
I am also an aide for Mrs. Jones, she is a devoted teacher. She teaches 7th grade Language Arts. We have become good friends.
The aides are also responsible for making sure the students are supervised during lunch. There are five areas and we rotate around every week- outside, lunchroom, elementary gym, hall, and junior high gym.
I love Blake, he has downs syndrome. He has a difficult time communicating, but every once in awhile I can understand what he says. He works hard and loves to play basketball.
The aides help keep the carpool traffic running smooth and watch the crosswalks. Sometimes it's really cold in the morning!
I was subbing for Yearbook. The students were celebrating finishing the yearbook.
We grade papers and input them in the computer.
We make a lot of copies everyday.
It makes me happy when I see the students having fun.
I had not worked outside my home for almost 30 years, and getting a job was terrifying for me. I have learned I can do hard things, and that I would rather be a guardian angel than the sheriff!
