Solar Eclipse, August 21, 2017...

The first day of school for me also happened to be a total solar eclipse. We did not experience totality here in Utah, but there were places in Idaho and Wyoming that did.

This was the first total eclipse in almost 40 years.

Even though it was only in view for a few minutes, it was still cool to see. I was subbing that day, so I took the students outside. We shared the approved glasses, and took a look. We noticed the temperature drop about 10 degrees, and the shadows near the trees were interesting.

Tim got some glasses from a neighbor, and took them to Mark and family so they could view the eclipse. They had made some cool pin boxes and that worked good too.

The next eclipse won't appear until April 8, 2024, I will be 67. Yikes!
