Christmas Card and Poem 2015...

I have been writing a Christmas poem for many years now. Sometimes they are good, and sometime they are a bit silly. My Grandma Federer loved poetry and quotes and it has been a way to honor her.

Grandma lived close by, her home was  just a few steps away
My brother and I went to visit her almost every day
She would open the front door and greet us with a smile
Then tell us to come right in and talk for awhile

We often lost track of time and stayed too long
We would help her with chores while she hummed a favorite song
She would say to hurry now, your Mom will call soon
We said, yes Grandma but we’ll be back tomorrow at noon

We gathered for Christmas dinner around her drop leaf table
Aunts, uncles, and cousins filled the room if they were able
A sweet aroma from her kitchen filled the air
Homemade delicious food was made with love and care

I have followed Grandma’s example so we can keep our family near
Being together is something we will always hold dear.
Grandchildren make our time together a blast
We just wish that it wouldn’t go by so fast

We find something to be thankful for each day
At the top of the list are Chris, Mark, Tiffani, Cash, Colby and Grey
To our family and friends that are so dear
Best wishes for Merry Christmas and a magnificent New Year.

Love,
Tim and Eileen Williams
