Aunt Kay and I arrived in Cheyenne Sunday afternoon (August 28th). It was an especially beautiful day. Aunt Sharon invited us to stay at the ranch and we enjoyed the drive to Harriman.
I love old barns, this one is nearby Aunt Sharon and Uncle Carl's ranch.
I love this milk can from Grandpa Federer's dairy.
My brother remodeled this bathroom at the ranch not to long ago. It really is lovely. Kenny is known as one of the best finish carpenters in Cheyenne.
Kenny also made this table for Uncle Carl, the detail is amazing!
We gathered with family Sunday afternoon. The neighbors brought dinner and Aunt Sharon's daughters Tina and Tammy took care of everything. They cleaned up and we appreciated their kindness.

This has been a sad time for Uncle Dale. I know his misses his brothers and never imagined Uncle Carl would pass away before he did.
Sunday afternoon a few of us were sitting around the table talking. I looked over and saw Uncle Dale sitting alone. He didn't have his brothers to talk to. I went over by him and knelt down. I put my hand on his knee and he put his arm on my shoulder. We visited for about fifteen minutes about what a great man Uncle Carl was and how much we will miss him. I love Uncle Dale... he is kind, clever, funny and intelligent.

Uncle Dale, Aunt Bernice, Uncle Dave and several of my cousins also stayed at the ranch. Sunday night I asked Uncle Dale to tell some stories. He is the best story teller ever. Of course Aunt Bernice and Aunt Kay also have lots of stories to tell. We laughed and cried and it was wonderful to be together.
I took a walk Monday morning and reflected on Uncle Carl's life and all my blessings. It had rained the night before and the air was so crisp and clean.
I will treasure the few days I could spend with my family. We had many special moments together and it was comforting to be with them.
