This past weekend was the 179th Semiannual General Conference of our church. In the first session on Saturday, President Monson announced plans to build five new temples ~ Brigham City, Utah; Concepción, Chile; Fortaleza, Brazil; Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and Sapporo, Japan.

Brigham City will be the fourteenth temple in Utah.

President Monson also mentioned that 83 percent of the 14 million church members, now live within 200 miles of a temple. That's incredible, we are SO blessed! There are 130 temples in operation, 16 in some phase of planning or construction and so with this announcement of 5 new temples, it will be bring the total to 151 worldwide.
