June 1986 ~ With my handsome Dad!
My Love For My Father
Even though he's gone I remember him the same
I sit here now, I read this aloud and think of him
I remember his smile, his voice calling my name
I think of him because I know my love for him will never dim
My father is gone but my love for him remains
I know he looks down on me from above and yet I'm still sad
He shall never truly be gone but I miss him still the same
I love him, my Dad
I shall miss him now for he has said goodbye
but I know I will see him again
I know I shall remember him as the days go by
And I will keep smiling and remembering till I see him again
I said a very sad goodbye to Dad on September 3, 1993. I remember him today with so many wonderful memories that will never fade!
Dad's Journal ~ January 1, 1990
This is a page from Dad's journal where he wrote about all the things he was grateful for. How sweet that he would begin the year by giving thanks!
"I just would like to write how thankful I am for my family and that Heavenly Father loved us so that He gave His only Son to save us from sin, and prepared a place to be with Him forever if we are found faithful to the end."
He conclude the entry by saying, "Thank you for all the blessings in life, it is all because You allowed it to happen ... the best is yet to come."
