AEldste Williams!

 Mark reading his mission call

It was 7 years ago today that Mark had his mission farewell, yep September 8, 2002! I wanted to honor him today with this post. We are very proud of him for serving an honorable mission to Denmark!

This is the official letter signed by President Hinckley.

I don't think anyone was happier than Brad to hear Mark was going to Denmark. Perhaps because it was so close to his mission to Sweden. Brad's smile says it all!!

Mark made it safely to Denmark and was greeted by President and Sister Hudson.

Mark and one of his mission companions.

Really my favorite thing about visiting Denmark was meeting the church members. Henning and his wife Creda ~ she made a traditional Danish Christmas dinner for us. It was delicious!!

Some of the fruits of Mark's labor in Denmark.

Mark was assistant to the president "AP" for both President Hudson and President Williams.

The highlight of Mark's mission was the open house and dedication of the first temple in Denmark. He had many memorable experiences during this time.

Another blessing was meeting with Elder Richard G. Scott and the temple president, Brother Dee V. Jacobs.

A must see in Denmark is the beautiful Christus statue. It took sculptor, Bertel Thorvaldsen 9 years to complete this marble edition. It is in a beautiful cathedral, The Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen.

This is my favorite picture ~ Chris and Mark had not seen each other for 3 years. I loved seeing them walk away together. We were so thankful to have had the opportunity to go to Denmark and bring our son home!

Our sweet, supportive family was at the airport to welcome Mark home. I really am so proud of you, you were obedient and worked so hard to help build the kingdom.
