Christmas Tradition!

For many years we have gone to the Kurt Bestor Christmas Concert at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake. He is an amazing musician. Not only does he play the piano and compose music but he can play many other instruments as well. About 45 other musicians joined him on stage and they were also wonderful. We had seats on the second row!

Jenny Oaks Baker was one of the guest artists this year. She played the violin and wowed us all. It was the highlight of the concert!!

This year was the 20th anniversary for a Kurt Bestor Christmas. Kurt and his daughter Erica performed one of his signature songs "Prayer of the Children." His daughter has spina-bifida but still pursues her dreams with enthusiasm. Kurt is standing by a ten foot Fazioli piano that will cost you around $300,000. He always mentions what a pleasure it is to play this piano.

Another fun tradition at the concert is the reading of "The Night Before Christmas." This year he invited his darling mom to have that honor. Kurt and his orchestra filled in with the appropriate sound effects. It is aways a crowd favorite. The lighting and sound technicians add so much the performance.

Mark and Tiff seemed to enjoy the concert and Chris couldn't wait to tell all his friends how great it was! We were excited to have Tiff join us this year. Christmas music is a great way to feel the spirit of the season. We also enjoyed a very healthy meal at our favorite hamburger joint "Crown Burger." It's always fun to be together as a family!
