Valentines Day surprise...

I surprised Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm on Valentines Day and picked them up from school. It's so fun to see them walk outside. Grahm came out the door first and gave me a big hug. We went to our favorite hang out for a few treats. It was fun to see them all on Valentines Day! Oh, I love them so much.

I can always count on Colbs for a big smile!

Those beautiful blue eyes!

Super Bowl....

Grandpa was so happy to have his sons and three of his grandsons watch the Super Bowl with him on Sunday. It turned out to be a very good game. Cash, Colby, and Grey watched all of it and I enjoyed hearing them talk and laugh downstairs. Colby was prepared to stay warm in his flying squirrel suit!

I went to a meeting on Sunday and after it was over I had a little bit of time before church started, so I drove to the temple. I just said a prayer and took this picture, no filter.

My favorite Valentines...

What a fun day with my favorite Valentines. We had an early party on Saturday. My brother sent the actual View Master that we had as kids. I remember sitting on our couch looking at the amazing 3D pictures! It was fun to show the View Master to the boys. It must be 40 years old or more.

We also played Minute to Win It games. It's been awhile so the boys let me take a few bench pictures. We had soup and homemade mini pizzas. Chris left the boys yummy cream puffs too! It was Grey's turn to choose a movie and he decided on Up. It was the perfect Valentine show because it's all about love.

Grahm and Grandpa's latest creation.

Just grapes!

Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm really do have our whole hearts.

ThrowBack Thursday ~ Snowgator

February 2013

As soon as we got home from church today, Tim grabbed the snow shovel and started clearing off the driveway. He was outside for a long time and I kept wondering what was taking so long. I went to check on him and found him making a snow alligator for Cash! Silly Gramps, but it was pretty amazing, and Cash loved it!

Straightway...

Matthew 4:20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him

Marvin J. Ashton

"Straightway is a power word. Straightway is an action word. It means immediately, without delay or hesitation. It means at once. Also, it is associated with having no curve or turn-a straight course, track, or path. Procrastination would be the very opposite of straightway....

My remarks today are going to be centered around this key word, straightway. 'And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.' How descriptive, how powerful, how rewarding when properly applied in human conduct.

"We invite all to serve the Savior and walk in His paths straightway. There is an urgency for all of us who have this knowledge of His divinity to act upon it without hesitation or delay. The time is now.

"Joshua reminds us of the importance of making decisions promptly: 'Choose you this day whom ye will serve; . . . but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.' (Joshua 24:15.) Not tomorrow, not when we get ready, not when it is convenient-but 'this day,' straightway, choose whom you will serve.

He who invites us to follow will always be out in front of us with His Spirit and influence setting the pace.

He has charted and marked the course, opened the gates, and shown the way. He has invited us to come unto Him, and the best time to enjoy His companionship is straightway." (Be of Good Cheer, p. 56.)

Eagle...

After I picked up Cash, Colby, Grey, and Grahm on Friday, we were coming down the hill by the mouth of the American Fork Canyon, and we saw a real life bald eagle. We were so happy the light was red, I handed Cash my phone, and he quickly took a few pictures. It was amazing to see the eagle perch on top of the power pole, a real symbol of freedom and strength. I've heard it said that seeing an eagle brings good luck. We all thought it was very cool!

Denial pile...

We really do enjoy playing games with grands. It's been even more fun lately, because Grahm can play more and more games with us. Uno has been a favorite for a long time, we have played it since Chris and Mark were young. If Grahm gets one of the Draw 2 or Draw 4 cards, he will lay them aside. He knows the rules but he wants to win! Cash calls the cards Grahm sets aside, the “denial pile.” So funny! Sometimes Grahm plays fair and square and other times he uses the denial pile. He does win most of the games. Oh well, you are only 5 once!

Uno history... 51 years and counting

Merle Robbins
In 1971, he invented UNO to resolve an argument with his son Ray, a teacher, about the rules of Crazy Eights. The original decks were designed and made on the family dining room table. Then he and his family mortgaged their home to raise $8,000 and created the first 5,000 UNO decks to sell. At first, he sold them out of his barber shop, while his son Ray handed them out to his students. In 1972, he sold the rights to UNO to International Games for $50,000 plus royalties of 10 cents per copy.

Today, the game is produced by toy giant Mattel in 80 countries and has sold 151 million copies worldwide.

Merle Robbins was a barber in Milford, Ohio. He died in 1984 in Cincinnati.

Grahm is a ham!

Grahm has us smiling all the time. He is funny, clever, and also surprises with all the things he knows. He really is our favorite ham. We were happy he got to sleepover again while Mark and Tiff took the other boys to a hockey game!

Grahm is always the best lunch date. When I asked him what he does at school he always replies, "At my boring school" we did such and such!

Grahm was playing with my phone.

I asked Grahm what he wanted for dinner and he said, "How about my favorite Costa Vida."

Grahm always sleeps good, what a beautiful boy!

Cash, Colby, and Grey have all played with the acorns on our bed. After Grahm woke and we sang the Good Morning song, he made up all kinds of games using the acorns.

Hurry back my sweet Grahmy Bear!

ThrowBack Thursday ~ Dusty Hooter...

Dusty and Jack would have been good friends!
