Birthday Bash Part I

I can't believe my Mom will 80 years old on July 11th. Time goes by so fast. I knew we had to have a big celebration and I thought it would be so fun to have a surprise party for her. A few weeks ago I had a strong impression to call her two living siblings and see if they could come to Cheyenne. Aunt Mildred lives in Arkansas and Uncle Ken in Denver. They were so excited and without hesitation said they would be there. I was thrilled and did a happy dance for days!

Tim is always so supportive and goes along willingly with all my crazy ideas.

Uncle Ken and Aunt Mildred arrived about an hour before the party started so we had a great time visiting with them. Uncle Ken is brilliant, he was an engineer for the Nasa Space program. He helped build many of the space capsules. He is 83 and still very active. Aunt Mildred is so easy going and fun!

My brother Lloyd told Mom he was going to take her for a ride. He's helping her out of his pickup!

"SURPRISE!"

Big hug for the birthday girl!

Uncle Ken and Aunt Mildred were hiding around the corner. I told her to turn around because we had one more surprise.

 What a moment!

Uncle Ken ~ Marion ~ Ernie

My brother Ernie really looks like my Dad, I love it!

Lloyd ~ Tim ~ Mandy

It's been many years since Mom has seen her sister.
It was heartwarming to see them together!

My beautiful niece Holley with her hubby Enoch and daughter Elizabeth

I love this beee-autiful girl. My cousin drove up with her handsome FarmGiant from Colorado to bee at the party. Pretty darn sweet of them!

Mom's great-grandsons having fun!

I finally got to meet my great-nephew Jasper Carl! My brother Marion is feeding him a little potato salad

and he really liked it! What a handsome boy!

Yes we had "pony rides" at the party. Thanks Theo!

 Grandpa Lloyd and Jasper Carl

Not many people can chew on Lloyd's arm and get away with it... his cute grandson Jasper can do whatever he wants. It's so sweet to see my big, tough cowboy brothers with their grandchildren.

To be continued...

Quote for the Week - Look to the lightouse

Look to the lighthouse of the Lord. . . . there is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what the lighthouse of the Lord can rescue. It beckons through the storms of life. It calls, “This way to safety. This way to home.”

Surprise!!

I am excited for this weekend.

Nelle Eileen

I wanted to do something really nice for my Mom's 80th birthday. Sooo, I have planned a SURPRISE party for her in Cheyenne. I have had lots of help and I know this will be the best gift we can give her. All of my brothers and my sister will be there. I have an extra special surprise. I called her two living siblings to see if they could come and they said YES!!! I am so thrilled and it will be so good to Uncle Ken who lives in Denver and Auntie M who lives in Arkansas. It's been too long.

T-minus 24 hours until the partieeeeeeeeee!

You aren't really 60...

Just 21 with 39 years experience!

I wanted to do something special for Tim's birthday and since it's been established that he LOVES breakfast food, I thought we should celebrate by enjoying Sunday Brunch at the Grand America.

Cash fell asleep on the way to Salt Lake.

He slept peacefully for almost an hour!

 He always wakes up happy.

A buffet table just for children.

 Cash loved the fruit kabobs.

 Cash and Grandpa

Cash loves music and he liked watching this ensemble play.

We were all smiles after a delicious breakfast with our birthday boy!

There is an amazing toy store inside the hotel and Cash loved exploring every inch of it!

Even though it was 100 degrees we took a stroll around Temple Square.

Cash stopping to "smell the roses."

 Shade!

I love this picture (10 weeks to go)!

We stopped by to see Johnnie Belle, after a few hints she remembered it was Tim's birthday. It was so good to see her sitting in a chair. We had a nice visit, she was having a pretty good day.

After a quick nap we enjoyed this "Heavenly Dessert." It's a banana cream trifle, so delicious and easy to make!

Tiff and Mark taught Cash to say "Happy Birthday Grandpa" and to sing the birthday song. He knew almost every word and he's not even two years old yet! It was the best and melted Grandpa's heart.

"You know you're getting old when you get that one candle on the cake. It's like, See if you can blow this out." ~ Jerry Seinfeld. Just kidding, you're not that old!

I got this bug for Cash at the toy store and he's patiently waiting for it to pop up!

A little lime with the cake, why not!

You're going to have a great year!
