Father's Day Weekend

Grandpa had another surgery on Friday, the second one in less than a month. He has been having problems with his right hand for years so it was time he had the procedure. (www.healism.com/procedures/bones.../palmar_fasciectomy/)

 

Cash came to play on Saturday and that made Grandpa feel much better!

It was a beautiful day and Cash loved being up on Uncle Christopher's strong shoulders!

We honored the Dad's in our lives on Sunday. I love watching Mark with Cash. He's a good Daddy and it was fun to celebrate his first Father's Day! Tim is also a wonderful Father of the Home, as Mark would say! He loves being a Grandpa. He says it’s the best feeling in the world and loves every second of being with Cash.

Tim loves gadgets and Mark, Tiff and Cash gave him a cool HEXBUG.

Tim and I miss our Dad's so much. Ivan and Glenn are always in our thoughts. We are grateful for their influence and love.

Laura "Laurie" Louise Wilcox

(11/11/1953 ~ 12/28/2010) 

Michael Wilcox is one on my favorite authors and teachers. I enjoyed attending his institute class. His wife, Laurie died of brain cancer in December and he has written a book titled “Sunset” which he hopes will help readers cope with death. It contains lessons he learned during the difficult, final months of his wife’s life. The book will be available next year. I have many of the CD’s he has recorded and would be happy to share them.

Empty Nesters

Our backdoor babies flew away today so...

we are empty nesters again, big sigh!

I know it may seem a little pathetic that I blog about birds but I became attach to these little guys and have worried about them for a couple months.

So maybe I need a change of scenery... this would be a nice vacation spot!

Wordless Wednesday - The Savior

Bow Wow Quilt...

I saw this darling fabric the other day so I made a quilt for Cash to use this summer when we play outside!

It was "sew" easy and I think it's "doggone" cute!! You just sew strips together in different widths. I whipped this out in a day.

I have given Cash a little something for his month birthdays. This is to celebrate his 9th month birthday! I know Gma is outta control and loving it!

You have to move quickly these days to get a picture of this little man... he's on the go all the time!

Backdoor Babies!

Our Robin eggs hatched and they are growing fast!

Mommy Robin is never far away.

It looks like one of the eggs is not going to hatch. This is the second year we have had backdoor babies. Last year Mommy Robin built the nest on top of the wreath and this year in the center.

It's a full time job for both parents, I see them protecting the nest, finding food and feeding hungry babies. They spend about 16 days in the nest. Last year I actually saw one of the babies fly away! It's fascinating to watch them grow.
