It was the perfect morning to walk around the cemeteries and remember friends and loved ones. There are always a few gravestones that make me think.
Almost four years, I know Tiffani misses her Dad so much. I talk about him with our grandsons. Mark, Tiff and the boys are at the Property. It's a place that will always have Brad's love and memory all over it. It's good they can go there and create more memories.
Christopher's classmate and friend, gone 18 years. He was killed in Iraq and that always tugs at my heart.
As Tim and I walked around the Highland cemetery, we now see so many gravesites of family and friends. Adoree fought with everything she had for two years. She had five beautiful children and a loving husband. The ward prayed for a miracle but shortly after her 40th birthday she passed from breast cancer that had metastasized to her brain. I found a note in a cup that her youngest son had written. Declan just turned 8 and is the sweetest boy. Somehow they keep going without their mom and wife.
I love you so so so so so so so so so much. She hugs me so so so so much.
Love, Declan. to Mom
I carefully folded the note and put it back in the cup. Tim and I both had tears.
Big George, gone way too soon... 17 years. A mentor and dear friend to Chris.
I love this song from Wicked... "Because I knew you I have been changed for good."
He must have loved to play the piano, beautiful grave marker.
It would be well to be remembered for giving service... "Serving Irving, I made a difference, I love to serve."
The Eastlawn cemetery in Provo has the most spectacular views.
Johnnie Belle, Glenn, and Jeff have been gone for a long time now. I still remember Glenn putting his arm me and asking me if I was happy. He was kind, caring, and a real gentleman.
The future resting place of Tim and Eileen. We have had these plots for many years, long before there was cemetary in Highland. We go back and forth if we should sell and get plots in Highland. But it's a beautiful place and we want to keep them.
"What can I do for you?"
Our next door neighbors in Hidden Oaks, some of the best people I've ever know. Jim smoked his entire life and it caught up with him.
I went with Grandma Federer every Memorial Day to help put flowers on the graves of our family members. It was so important to her that they were remembered.
I look forward to seeing her again... everlasting life.
